I need to know what width's I can install Front & Rear without making any modifications to the car such as rolling the fenders. The car is going to be left at stock ride height and will not be lowered. I also would like suggestions for tire sizes front & rear. I know the rear will take a wider rim but what can I get that will not cause any rubbing at all. Please keep in mind I'm at stock ride height and I do not want to perform any modifications to the car such as rolling the fenders. Thank You all very much.

18x8 with 225/40/18 front and 18x9 with 245/35/18 rear should fit perfectly fine.

I forgot one very important detail. Please include offsets for front and rear.

Lexus_IS300
WOW!! Do you really think 18X9 will fit in the rear without fender rolling. I notice you say "should fit". Wheels and tires are a $3,000 investment I need something more definative than sould fit. I don't want to deal with any tire/fender rubbing. I occasionally have 4 adults in my car.

I appreciate any help anyone can give but please respond with your personal experiences not what you may have heard through the grapevine.

I have 18x7.5 with 225/40/18 all the way around. I didnt have any problems with rubbing (until i lowered it) and didnt have to roll my fenders.

I put a set of 18 x 8.5's w/ 235/40/18's on mine and it rubbed on the rear. I am not sure what the offset was. I think I would have gotten by with a 225/40/18. Just to be safe I put on 215/35/18's with the same rim and have had no problems. I am buying a set of 18 x 7.5 and keeping the 215/35/18's. Don't have any problems on the front or back with this combination. I frequently ride 4 passengers. (Family)

Radar,

based on my reading from past japanese mags of tuners in japan, i would recommend you take the followings:

18x7.5 F 225/40/18
18x8.5 R 235/40/18

for offsets, take a good look at this site

www.volkracing.co.jp

rays wheels is one of the largest, if not the best, wheel mfg. in both japan and world wide. their fittment chart is very accurate for those who prefer no modifications such as fender roll.

Black is300 your tire rub with 225 18 40. I am getting my rim soon, what would you suggest the size of the tire I should get so my tire won't rub against the fender. I am getting the Racing hart m5 rim 18".

Default Re: Wheel size/ width

I have done a IS300 with 19x8.0 Front and 19x9.0 rear with 235-35-19 front and 265-30 -19 rear. The wheels are HRE 547 with anthracite centers and polished lip CHECK IT OUT. It needed a little modification on the rear fenders.

Wheelguy the HRE's look awesome. Definitely one of the best wheels out there. You have one sweet ride. I have finally made a decision on my wheels. I'm purchasing Lowenhart BR-5 in silver with polished lip in size 18 X 8 Front 18 X 8.5 Rear and 225/40 18 tires. Unfortunately it is going to take 4 weeks before they arrive. I will post a pic when I receive them.

well lots of conflicting info here! some one put me right then cos im getting Volk TE-37
7.5x18 front and 8.5x18 rear with TOYO PROXES T1-S ive been told that including lowering 30/40mm
that i can fit:

front :225/40zr18
rear :255/35zr18

can someone give more solid info to this ,this info was given by GT Autosports, obviously i dont whant any chaffing and i will be carrying people,im eventually going to be fitting HKS Hyper dampers to get it really low,but i want the wheels to fill the arches not sit in there like pram wheels

Default Fitment of wheels

Honestly , It would all depend what look you are going after, for example if you are fixing this car up for show and you want to lower the car the way you want to do with dampers and stuff I would run 18x8.0 all around that way its not to narrow and not to wide it would sit on the car perfect with 225-40-18 and that will eliminate the fender mods depending on what wheels you run because they are all made with different offsets.

Default tyre sizes'the on going hunt for info'

Thanks for that however the wheels have been ordered there somewhere between Japan/usa/europe!
I am happy with the front size (7.5x18(225/40/18),but the rears are worrying me a little, the wheels(8.5x18)
are coming, theres no stopping that, but i need to know the best fit of tyre, would 255/35/18 fit with a 30/40mm drop,
also in germany (where im stationed with the forces)there TUV laws state that it must be a 255 as do Toyo
SOME ONE HELP,before i spend a mint on rear tyres

Default Rear tire size

You really cant go with anything else because with a 225-40 -18 tire in the front you have to run a 255-35-18 on the rear that way the rolling diameter isn't off. Its like if you run a 235-35-19 you have to run 265-30-19 on the rear not 275, with a 275 on the rear you need a 245 up front. I hope you understand where Im getting at.
