Ok fellow CL members time for advice for new wheels/tires :D
wheels: ssr prof sp1 in black 18X8.5 18X10.
This is what they look like with a CRAZY offset https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...&highlight=sp1
pic of the wheel https://www.clublexus.com/gallery/sh...cat=500&page=1
now I know this has been covered a zillion billion times I just finished a search and for some reason I still wasn't sure on the answer. The offsets I should be looking for are +40 front and backto be safe?
I want the max lip (eventhough it's a stepped lip) or can i go about +36 front and +38 rear? I don't want any fender modification just bolt up and play. Please let me know of a range and I am not looking to get bigger calipers.
Tires: the yokohamas AVS sport is a good tire but from I've read from tirerack reviews the wear and wet traction is not that good. It rained up here in Toronto all summer so I want a tire with good rain traction and good wear. price also plays a role of course. Any advice?
Note: I will be lowering my car (1"-1.5") in the Spring since i'll have the tein CS in my hands in a couple of days.
This is a big step as I'm sure you understand and i want to do it right.
Thanks,
Nick

sc4, I take it your looking for an ultra high performance 'all season' tire? & what kind of cash are you looking to spend in the sixe you want (just tires I'm talking about now). What part of Toronto are you from BTW?

I'm looking for any max/ultra high/high perfomance tire with descent wear to put on those rims if I decide to go with them. Something that could handle the rain as well.
tire sizes are
245/40/18 front
265/35/18 rear unless I can fit 275 with the right offset
rims cost about $1700 so i'd imagine a complete set would go for about 2200-2380 with tires but I just don't know what tire and the exact offset.
So to answer your question about $500-$680 for tires unless I can find descent tires in the lower part of that range.
I'm from East York/Scar area. You're a fellow Torontonian?

for fronts:
- Toyo Proxes 4 (roughly $ 255 - 260 Canadian each)
- Falken Ziex ZE-512 (roughly $ 230 & an AWESOME TIRE!)
- Continental Extreme Contact (roughly $180)
For the rears, I'd suggest:
- Falken Ziez ZE-512's (roughly $300 each) is the only tire in that size you can match with the fronts out of the choices above.....I'd suggest getting all 4 tires at least the same make & model. If you need a tire place, let me know........I know the best place to get what your looking for in the GTA! PM me if you want.!

if you wanna stay conservative with less fender modding, for offsets, stay in the upper 30s or lower 40s
for me, my rears are +42 on a 19x10 and they are still tucked a little bit inside the fender and i wasn't happy........so on my next set, i plan on going mighty aggressive with skyline offsets

thanks topsecret yeah on 19" that's what I've seen also when i searched but I haven't seen any discussion on 18" with a drop and proper tire
I just want to have the maximum lip I can have without having to mod my fenders with that set up, that's all... and I've seen your wheels they look very very nice
