Question Why Tire Rack doesn't carry Falken tires?

Since the tires on my 2 Lexus sedans are getting low on treads, I thought of replacing them with the top rated Falken ZE512 brand listed in the "Performance All Seasons Tires" test report from the Consumer Report. CR said Falken beat out top names like Goodyear, Michilin, Pirelli, .... on just about every area which includes Dry Braking, Wet Braking, Handling, Hydroplaning, Snow Traction, Ice Braking, ....etc. The first place I called was the Tire Rack and I was stunned to find out they carry just about everything except Falken nor are they willing to special order. Tire Rack offered no explanation except "sorry we cannot help you". Since Tire Rack is considered the "expert" in tires and the largest mail-order store in this country, I feel TR is doing a disservice to consumers for not carrying and promoting a brand that's been rated the best by a top consumer magazine.

which is even quieter and better in rain
thant the Ze512..
Maybe because the tire is too affordable..lol

I read the same CR article on Falken tires and I called Tire Rack to order a set of 4 for my ES but they gave me essentially the answer as what YWW said. In fact the sales rep tried to steer me to couple of other brands. Sears do carry them but their price is very high. I'm disappointed too that a big tire mail order company like TR don't have Falken tires.

I read good things about ST115s also. Only complaint people seem to have is the tire wear. But hey, I drive about 4000 miles a year. My next tire purchase may be these Falkens.

Cool

I hear ya everyone!! (they don't carry Toyo's either!!) I'm sure if you contact Falken directly ( www.falkentire.com ), you can find a list of local dealers in your area at substantial savings over other brands & it is too bad that tire rack dosen't carry them....perhaps in the future they will? But hey if they don't have the product, they don't get the sale right? You can also try the "canadian version" of tire rack which is www.tiretrends.com as they do in fact carry Falken's!! & deliver to the USA (all prices are in Canadian funds) Good Luck! I put the Falken's 512's on my wife's Ford Focus ZX5 & they are an absolute awesome tire in all respects including inheavy rain (were waiting for the first snowfall here in Toronto). It's an excellent choice & you won't regret getting them!!

too funny...lol...
All my people are switching to Falken
both the 512 and the st115 are superb tires
I rode with both and the st115 is quieter and
better in rain... the 512 is fantastic as well
Tire wear is minimal but who really expects 35k
out of performance tires.
to the St115

We had rain last night & it froze over with a light dusting of snow......over 100 accidents were reported in the morning rush hour (including a pick up truck carrying chemicals that went off a bridge when he lost control & crashed 30 ft below onto the 401 which is basicly a busy interstate highway that goes thru Toronto....he was not hurt badly thankfully if you can beleive that). I had my Wife's Ford Focus ZX5 with the Falken 512's & they were just AWESOME the way they performed on the city streets as the salt trucks were still on the highways & did not get to that part of the city yet. A notch up I can honestly say in snow & ice traction over my Toyo TPT's, which are still very good!

Johnny .... I had 18" falken azenis st115 on the set of rims
i just sold last week...
I loved them... quiet and sticky... great for NYC driving
as they absorb bumps well..
The 512 version is a great tire as well..
Save your money and go Falken...

i always put falken in the same boat as kumho, cheap tires in my own opinion...ive never heard anything bad about falken, but the price of them steers me away along with websites who sell them...these sites will not give you a government rating on treadwear, traction, temperature...these are key to selling tires and every site ive seen doesn't put them up...i would try them but i think ill stick to toyo for piece of mind because they seriously kick ***...Shyne

i just got the top rated falkens on my STS and they are great. And they were only $76 a tire free shipping off of some tire site. Great tires, I highly recommend them, especially for the price.
