Default TireRack question - Tire pressure for ContiExtremeContact

Brandon, if you care to answer, I would appreciate it. I just received my order from TireRack. Got 4 ContiExtremeContact 245/45/18 tires for my LS430. Rating is 96W. What would be the correct cold tire pressure for these tires mounted on OEM LS430 18" rims? Or anybody who owns these tires, I would appreciate an advice from your personal experience with these tires. What did you find to be the optimum tire inflation pressure for these tires. Thanks in advance.

thanx. What if I make them 35 psi all around? would 38 psi be more suitable then 35?

well, it will ride softer for sure. but it's 18s, the reason for running a bit higher psi is to avoid bending the wheels too easily. if you run 35psi, you risk a bit more on bending the wheels. not that it will bend in 2 mins, but definitely easier

Default 35 PSI

35 PSI is what we recommend just like the placard should read. I don't see anything wrong in pumping more PSI in as long as you don't exceed the max inflation of the tires.

well I had my new conti extremecontact tires mounted today. Drove for few hours. I can only say that these are way quieter and softer than the michelin energy tires I had, despite that the energy was on my 17s and now the conti tires are on my new 18s. sharper turnin and better straight line handling so far. I will post after few few thousand if anyone cares to know what my opinion is about these tires. tires also look better on the car with their tread design comparing to the michelin energy tires they replaced
