I purchased a set of L-SportLine rims for my Sc 430 no longer than 15 months ago. Last week I took my car to my dealer because I felt that my alignment was pretty off. I get a call the next day saying that I needed 4 new tires and 4 new rims. The tires I could understand because they are 3 years old and the treads were wearing thin. But my rims? They said 2 rims were cracked and 2 were bent, probably from hitting potholes. I have never been in any accidents, nor have I hit any curbs, only normal driving. True the roads have been pretty bad in NY and NJ and I have hit some minor potholes. Lexus wouldn't replace m rims because this happened with aftermarket rims. So I put back my old stock rims on along with the new center cap. And instead of paying $1,800 for new tires from Lexus, I ordered them from the Tirerack for $1100 and had Lexus put them on. I just thought I would share about what a piece of crap the L-Sportlines are.

So, you put new tires on the cracked & bent L-Sportline wheels? If that's what you did, man an accident is waiting to happen! Dude, if a wheel is cracked, you shouldn't be driving on it......it's dangerous man!

Do you have pictures of the wheels? Which model are they? Are they forged? Single piece or multipiece? I'm just curious.

I should have been more clear. I didn't put the broken rims back on. I would never do that. I put back my old factory stock rims that I had in storage. As for the L-Sportline wheels they were one piece wheels. It's the L-sportline M4 single piece. I can't find the company on the web anymore to contact them. Lsportline.com is a different company.

Honestly, I would not call the wheels crap. I am from Brooklyn, NYC so I know all about the roads there. If you had them for this amount of time 2cracks and a bend is not surprising.

For the inner city, I think forged wheels are the best way to go, and I have had every type of wheel on my various cars.

I would say all the L-Sportline rims MAY suck EXCEPT for the Model II's, which were the only L-Sportline rims made in Japan. Those rims are solid and of high quality. Rims made in Japan are of much higher quality than most domestic made rims, due to their higher quality standards.

Hey, I have a set of 4 L Sportline Type IV singles for my ES300, 18 x 7.5 and was thinking about selling them if anyone is interested? One had a crack but I had it repaired out in Bath PA by this place that is supposed to be the best in repairing them. You wouldn't even know they had a crack.......I was thinking of selling not because I dislike them but they are too wide, they rub a bit when I hit whoops........I need a more narrow wheel.
