Default 20x9 on a 93 gs300 NEED HELP

Ok here it goes..........I am only interested in this type of wheel and they only make it in a 20x9. Alot of people tell me that i will have problems with rubbing. here are my questions.

1. What's the difference with a 20x9 using a 245/35/20 and a 20x8.5 also using the same size tire? Isn't it the same width and depth inside the fender?

2. People also have told me i can cut the inner plastic of the fender, but what about water going inside the engine and the trunk etc....

3. If it's the tire, can i use a 235/35/20 or maybe a 225/35/20 on a 20x9, or will this type of tire make the wheel look funky!?!

Please help out, i'm looking to purchase these today. The wheels are Giovanna Cassino and they only make them 20x9 for a fwd! Thanks guys!

if i were you i would choose different wheels it would make it alot easier on you there is a big difference with a 20x9 and a 20x8.5 the 20x9 is a half of a inch wider than the 20x8.5 so it is going to be sticking out further then the 8.5 i don't think you will be able to lower your car with a 20x9 either

there are a lot of wheels out there if you don't want to get anything else try to go with those i know a 20x8.5 with a +35 offset would work but i am not sure if a 20x9 with a +35offset would work though

The offset will affect whether or not it works. In my experience, the first-gen GS seems to be more big-wheel-friendly than the second gen. This is a good thing.

My brother (Link 13) runs front 19x9 +37 with 245/35-19 (and rear 19x10 +37 with 285/30-19) on his '94 GS- it looks sweet! What offset are the Giovannas?

For this set-up, I would run the 245/35-20s. Anyting smaller will look like the car has no tires!!!

20x9 with 35mm offset is on the aggressive side, but if you run a 245/35 you should not have any big problems, just the usual minor fenderliner plastic rubbing. For reference, I had 20x8.5 35mm offset with 255/35 and was lowered about 1.9 and had no trouble.
