Default RE: Rear Fenders Rolled ??

Most of you that are running a 20x10 rear wheel with a 35 offset or higher, do you have to roll the fenders and does that take care of the problem?? Thanks

What kind of car are we talking about? For the GS, you will have to shave down the metal inside the fender so you don't rub. I have a +39 offset and I was rubbing the sides of my tire before I shaved the metal. But I was also lowered on coilovers.

I think you mean 35 or lower right? I believe rominl has +42 in the rear and I think he did not rub although he shaved the fenders anyway. I can't remember the exact point where you start to rub but it is obviously between 39 and 42. Haha. At +39 like LXOGOOD, shaving about 5mm is a safe amount. With even lower offsets, you are starting to look at shaving off that whole tab in the fender. It also depends on how low you are planning to drop the rear.

no, 42 is higher than 35, so that's 35 or HIGHER yes, offset goes like that, a lot of thinking

yes, if your offset if 42 or higher, with the right tires you won't rub and no need to do anything. anything less than that you need to start shaving the fender

if you have 35, you will have to shave the whole fender

Nope. I know what was meant. To me it did not make sense to ask 35 or higher since it included 45 which will not need shaving and 35 which will. It made more sense to see if people lower that 35 need to shave which will have only one answer: yes. At least that was my rationale.

I run 19x10 +24 in the back with no fender rolling but very aggressive camber, with no rubbing. But of coz no one here believes me....

I believe you Jon.

Your camber is probably a key point though as most of us don't run it that aggresively.
