Default 1st gen GS300 245/45/18 plus spacers?

Hoping to get some help from the wheel gurus.

I plan on running GS400 17x8 wheels on 245/45 tires. I'm considering also adding 25mm spacers to the rear.

I am lowered (about 1-2 finger gap). Does anyone know if I will run into any problems with rubbing on a first gen GS300?

I've seen pics of the 245/45 + 25mm setup on the 2nd gens and they seem to be fine. Hoping the same will apply to my first gen.

Greatly appreciate any help. Thanks!

Are you talking about OEM GS400 wheels? When did they make OEM 18s?

I have the exact same set-up on my car with absolutely no problems and the spacers improve the looks and the handling (slightly). PM me if you have any questons.

(Eibachs with 2 finger gap, 98 GS400 rims, 245/45 tires, 25 mm H&R spacers)

CyberGS3, I asked the same question in the first gen forum. Waiting for answers. In the mean time, when I had my 19x8 (I'd imaging the overall tire size was the same), I started with 25 mm spacers from H&R. Looked realllllly good. but there were rubbing problems. I'm sure rolling the fenders would help, but I didn't want to bother with it at the time. I'm currently running 15 mm with no rubbing on 17" second gen rims. Hope that helps, and if you find out what the perfect size spacers for second gen rims front and back, let me know. Thanks.

Thanks Minh,

I according to my research in past threads...looks like the preferred setup for 2nd Gens is 5mm (max you should do for front) and 25mm (back)

Most people advise not adding spacers to the front due to handling and geometry problems. So at most they add 5mm (just to clear big brakes). The back can be as wide as you like (so long as the wheels don't stick out past the fenders; mostly a looks thing).

Thanks for your help. I think 245/45 plus 25mm spacers on 17x8 wheels should be perfect for me.
