since the IS has such a high offset and those are a inch more narrow than the GS 17s, you may want to run a spacer, and maybe a slightly thicker tire.

They will fit but they will look too inset. There have actually been several recent discussions on fitting IS wheels on a GS.

IS 17 inch rims are narrower by 1 inch 17 x 7 vs 17x8 for GS.

so if i run a thicker tire say" 235/50.17 i should be fine?or would i need to go with a 55 series tire

No, that's not the problem. What the others here are saying is that the wheel will look like it is too far inside the wheelwell. Imagine how a spacesaver spare looks on a car - too narrow AND it sits really far in.

I would just sell or trade for GS wheels instead of trying to fit the IS wheels.

like others said, it will fit but the wheels will be very inward, not good looking at all imho
