Cracked vs Gouged Wheels
Hi,
I don't know if this is even a question I should be asking. I have a choice between purchasing a new rim for my ES300. The problem is that my dealer wants almost 500 for the dang thing. I've been monitoring here and the other Lexus forums and nobody is really selling this specific rim. I finally found somebody selling them on Ebay. Now, the reason why I am having such a hard time buying is that I'm not really trying to spend all that much money on it, its the 2000 ES plat wheels, which I guess is pretty rare in terms of people selling, and I only need one wheel, two at most I just want to have a spare around, since I bent only one and the dealer just took the old one away and wants the aforemetioned 500 for a new one.
Now , on to my choices, there is three, two of the three has some pretty nasty scratch marks, actually they look like gouges to me. The last wheel has a relatively clean face, but the lip actually looks cracked, I can't really tell by the picture if its just a nasty curb scratch or a cracked lip.
If i had a choice which should i go with , the cracked rim or the the seriously scratched up one? I'm thinking the cracked one would have serious structural integrity problems and would present a safety harzard, whereas the other one would just look ugly =(.
Shoud i even have this disucssion and just bit the bullet with the 500?
thx
