Got new tires (and had a great time doing it!)
Earlier today I drove to townfair with a printout from tirerack.com so they could match their much lower price. The tires I wanted were Dunlop SP9000 225/55R/16 V rated. They matched the price but could only get me the Z-rated. Foolishly I thought V was rated above Z and thus Z was cheaper, I told them to knock down the price, I wouldnt pay that for the Z's. He said I would need an actual quote from tirerack.com.
I quickly drove back to campus 5 minutes away, and realized my mistake. The Z rated ones are rated for a higher speed, and on top of that, cost $141 as opposed to $101 for the V-rated. Needless to say I bolted right back and was more than happy to pay $101 each for the Z-rated!
They are ordered and on their way.

It's all fine by me. I can only imagine how rediculously inflated the prices are for tires... there's no way that shop actually pays more than $50 per tire that they try to sell off at $200.
