Default 5 spoke for an SC3

Hey everybody.
I'm on college student on a tight budget so if you plan on flaming me for not buying expensive wheels, don't bother. I'm looking to spend somewhere below $1500 for a tire+wheel package.
I've been checking out Tire Rack quite a bit for the past few days lookin at 18's.
I used to be sold on the Moda R6's, but after seeing SW's CCW's, I started warming up to the 5 split-spoke look.
I'm trying to find something similar in look to the CCW's on his car, for around $1500 that will work w/ a TT Brake upgrade and a 1'' rear drop and 1.5'' front drop w/ coilovers.
I really like the Mille Miglia EV-R but the pics show no lip.

Now, I know this is one big loving-family board and no one EVER gets flamed for ignorance but "offset" is dealing w/ the size of the lip, right? Or wrong? I'm not looking for a lot, I just want a visual difference from the front and rear when looking from a side view.
Something similar to the look of the SSR GT3.
Any suggestions (besides save up for even more expensive wheels)?

Being a college student, I'm only gonna get a shot to work full time this summer and I don't plan on spending the entire amount on wheels. If i'm gonna go 5 spoke, I would like to have the tt upgrade smiling from behind, so that's gonna absorb a little of my salary, along w/ maybe some used coilovers.
Anyway, i'll stop rambling and wait for some more comments before I go any further.

Requirements for my selection:
18''
5 split-spoke
under $1500
accomodate TT brakes and a small drop

On second thought, after typing this post i've been comparing side-by-side pics... and i love the SSR GT3's.... so... should i save up for the GT3's or just sick w/ the EV-R's???

mmmmm yumminess
pics compliments of TireRack

I like the SSR GT3's in the staggered look 18's 245's front and 275's rear can't go wrong. Looks like these are 3 piece also as for quality not sure, but the price is better than other 3 piece wheels. I'm sure someone else can give a better opinion as far as the quality of these wheels.

Yeah, I forgot to mention quality is pretty high up there too since the streets here suck. Is it a rule of thumb that the fewer spokes, the easier they bend? It seems like that would be the case...

If you get a highdisk setup they would. Also why do you need wheels now save up so you don't end up with some cheap low end wheels.

I wasn't aware the SSR or Mille Miglia were that "low end".
I'm seriously considering the SSR GT3's now. I love the look and being a 3 piece if anything gets a little screwed up, I'm covered.
