Default ouch!rear tires are touching my fenders.

I am running 255/45/18s in the rear and the tries are hitting my rear fenders especially when I hit bumps.I hate to hange the tires and I am wondering if I can install anything in the springs etc... to keep the springs from collapsing?

How far out does it hang? Is it hitting the outside body? If it is still inside, is it hitting the tab underside? If the latter, the easiest way is to trim that tab. BUT, like AutoCoutureSC suggested, post more data so that we can provide options.

Default It is hitting the black strips

The tires keep rubbing against the black strips in the rear fenders when I have passengers in the back or I go over bumps.Remebber that the 255/45 is a tire with a tall wall. This is a 90 LS and I did replace the rear struts and this got a bit better after that. The tire also sticks out maybe 1/2 an inch or almost parallel with the fender.I am not sure what the offset is but this is a pic with 255/35 /18 tires which was taken 8 months prior to this other setup up.I know there are spring compressors for cars and I am wondering if there are also a small gadget that you can install in between the springs to keep it stiff or to raise it a bit.

well it's fundamental wrong offset that's causing the problem. you shouldn't change the suspension by affecting the spring compression at all

if it's just rubbing the black strips in the fenders, just remove them...

Default remove the blak strips?

If I remove the black strips it will then rub against the body and mess up the under body and the tires will be stripped.I went to advanced auto and they advised on using spring booster which sits between each coil on the spring. In this case it will make the springs more rigid and will also lift up the car a bit.I put two 11/2inch bosters on each side but I do need more than that to support both sides.Another cause for this is because I am running spacers which is making the rear fender align with the tries(parrallel).I will let you know by tomorrow.

that won't work, coz' after the tab you have the real metal body tab

why don't you shave the fender, basically trim off that whole tab?

oh, i know about that, but if the rubbing is only a few mm, then taking off the black piece will solve minor issues. if he's rubbing more than that, then maybe get tires that aren't so thick
