the job doesn't sound too bad. i might give it a try when i change my brake pads in a few days since i have to remove the caliper.

As I recall, you can use a hammer and knock it out. There is a clearance on top between the caliper bracket and the dust cover, enough clearance for you to pull out the old stud.

I could be wrong, but whatever it is, its an easy process.
