OK, common sense gives me an idea, but are they plates that bolt on to the hub, behind the wheel that should allow for extra wheel well clearance?

i think the H&R ones are replacement hubs that are thicker than stock to make the wheels stick out more.. its good if ur not planning to get new wheels for a while and you want a wider rear track...

i MIGHT get them.. im looking into it... if they are replacement hubs then its not likely they will be dangerous (this isn't the 24 hours of le mans u kno)

I wanted to upgrade my RX300 so the ride wasn't quite so "soft".

Going to 17X8 wheels meant adding 1"(approx.) spacers in the rear so for balance I did it all around.

The spacers have drilled holes and bolt head recesses so they can be secured to the rotor hub with the spacer surface flush except for the center alignment "nub". The wheels are then bolted to the spacers via pre-drilled and tapped holes in the spacers.l

Ended up with about a 3" wider stance overall, more contact patch (always a good thing) and a vehicle that doesn't scare you with just a tad too much wallow (tire sidewall, etc.) in turns.

Guys, spacers put more stress on the wheel bearings among other things.
I would suggest buying wheels that fit the car perfectly and not add spacers.

For passenger vehicles aren't they usually like a couple of mm thick? They would still exert a considerable amount of stress? Just curious; I have no plans to mount...

Dexter, even a couple of mm will add a lot of stress!!

I have the stock wheels on my SC400 (16x7) with all-season tires for winter driving, and the rear wheels seem to be further inboard of the fender lip than the front ones. The rear fenders must be slightly wider than on the front. I'm thinking a 1-1.5" spacer should bring the rear wheels nice and close to the lip edge for better looks and wider track and still allow tire rotation, unlike buying wider rear rims.

I just bought some 20" rims for my 2001 LS430 and the inside of the spokes were barely rubbing the outside of the front caliper. The tire shop had some 1/8" thick spacers on hand, so that worked out. Will that thin of a spacer really affect anything? That spacer equates to a hair over 3mm thick.

I got local made spacers for the front wheels to clear my TRD brakes. Hopefully, when the new wheels come in and with the DSR monoblocks, I should be able to clear them now without any spacers.

They cause vibrations at highway speeds.

why would they cause vibrations at highway speed?

The offset on mine is 34 plus the 3mm spacer.
