Is this rear tire size for the GS not possible?

I was at my local tire shop, and the person behind the desk said, that a 20x10 rear wheel on a GS should not be a 275x30x20,but it would be better to have a 265x25x20!! I didnt no they made them that size?? and no he didnt offer me a brand either???

I don't see why you can't run 275x30x20. Yes it is bigger than stock size but that is the typical size for the rears on the GS on 20s. Depending on the offset, you may rub and might have to shave the fenders but it's been done.

the 265/25/20 has closer overall diameter compared to the stock, but i would NEVER suggest that coz' the profile is way too low. 275/30/20 is about 6% out of spec but i don't care

I'm not sure who makes 265/25 20 but none of the brands well sell have that size. Maybe Nitto, Toyo or Falken? 275/30 is more common on the rear of GS.
