Default Car kinda wobbles back and forth after new wheels

Ok Wednesday night I got some wheels and tires put on my car. Well I have noticed that starting off, if I am going at a lower speed the car wobbles back and forth. (no the tires aren't flat, obviously I would notice that.) I feel no vibration in the steering wheel, or pedals or anything but the car wobbles. It's rather irritating. Also at higher speeds when taking corners the steering doesn't feel quite as stable as it did. Would this be that the tires need to be balanced? (For the wobbling) And the difference in size of the stocks to the new wheels? (the unstable steering?) Somebody hook me up with some answers! Thanks!

Did you check the lug nuts also? Like I said, if not the tires and wheels.. check the steering and steering rack and suspension.

GOod luck.

Maybe a bad tire? I'd take it back and have them do it right. Maybe take one of the guys at the tire shop on a ride and see if they can isolate which one is giving you the bad shake.

no, not yet but that is my next venture. you can't see anything from looking at them at all. so its gonna take someone putting them on a machine of some sort.

Whenever I get my wheels balanced, I look at them on the machine, you can see the wobble if they are bent!

Amy: I’m with “D.” The proper balancing of good wheels and tires means everything. I joined my buddy one day when he went into the same large tire dealer we both had been using with no problem for four years. Our plan was to stop-by, have his “lifetime” balancing updated and then we were going to mall to get his wife something for their anniversary. The car’s ride was pretty smooth when he drove it in, but it wasn’t when we drove it home. That retailer balanced the same tires they had done several times before, incorrectly three times that day. When they were done, you would never have believed it was the same car it was shaking so much, and the manager told my friend the tires must have “broken a couple of belts” and couldn’t be balanced any better. The next day he took the vehicle to the local Firestone shop, and it was funny, because when they looked at what the other retailer had done,, the manager asked “what were they trying to do, they couldn’t have been trying to balance them…” Forty minutes later the wheels and tires were balanced correctly again and the ride was terrific. So on a good-setup, balancing is everything, but as Dgot20s said, always watch the guy doing the work so you can be sure the wheels are not bent, and that the tires you just bought are within spec with regard to both trueness and roadforce. Good luck with sorting it out.
