Default For those with 19"+ wheels...

I did an extensive search on the subject, but couldn't find any definitive answers. I know there is much speculation as to why/how GS's chew up 17" or larger tires so fast. I just want to know the following:

1) Wheel/tire combo you have?
2) Suspension modification(s), if any?
3) How many miles you're getting on the tires from question #1?
4) What kind of unusual wear you get on your tires?
5) How often do you get alignments done to try to preserve the life of your tires?
6) Wheel balancing issues?

I'm just trying to put together some quantitative data together so I can attempt to see if the looks of 20's on my GS4 justifies the amount of money I will be dumping into a wheel/tire setup. Thanks guys. I appreciate any input that you have.

2) Tein HA
3) I have had these tires since Oct. 03 and I have driven it at least 2500 miles since
4) none so far...
5) I haven't aligned it since I put on these wheels and tires. It seems to be ok. =)
6) my front wheels seem to be off. They are balanced, but at 60mph it shakes, faster or slower, it doesnt shake at all... weird...

lexcapade, I have been into cars since 1970, Hot Rod and Custom Cars my whole live, Even if everything on a car is right some cars are just very hard on tires and there's not any thing to can do . When you run a staggered set-up you then loose your tire rotation which is really need for tire life................But some tires are better than others you just have to play around............it is a hit and miss game..........The wheel centerbore is very very important a must for wheels the half-a$$ adapters is a bad idea.......when spending high dollars on wheels they need to fit right !

1) IForged Flux: 20 x 8.5, 20 x 10 - tires: Bridgestone S03's F - 245/35/20 R - 285/30/20
2) Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs
3) So far I've put 6000+ miles on them
4) Slight wearing on the inside of the front tires - nothing that an alignment couldn't fix. Rear tires seem to be weaing evenly.
5) I've never had the car aligned.
6) No balancing issues here.

2. INTRAX springs/KYB struts (1.9 drop settled)
3. Put about 10k on the first set
4. With bad rear camber-wore the rears out before 10k, fronts were fine.
5. Got the car aligned after the drop (shop didnt do a good job in the rear, thus #5), after the second set of
wheels/tires, got the car realigned, and NO uneven rear after about 5-6k miles
6. No balancing issues, just make sure the shop has good balancing equipment

Thanks for the replies guys. Seems like most of you aren't having any major problems in terms of abnormal tread wear. That's a plus. So, from what you guys have told me, I feel fairly comfortable with my decision to go with 20's... Now just need to find that perfect wheel....

What type of wheel do you like? There SOOO many options for the GS. Do you like chrome, silver, custom colored, etc?

do you want 5spoke, 6spoke, mesh, etc etc?

I'm really into 5-spoke or 6-spoke designs. To me, these scream out "CLASS." I don't want to spend more than $2k because my driving route to work ALWAYS has construction going on. Plus the roads aren't in the greatest shape anyway. I really like the centerline stingrays, but they don't make them in a bolt pattern to fit our cars. I liked these because they're forged, and light (20"/~20lbs). Still need to keep shopping though. I saw at www.victoriatire.com, they had some 20" package specials from $1700+, but I need to do some more investigation on the quality of those combos at those prices... By no means will I rush into it and do an impulse buy. I'll just roll on the stock chrome 16's till I find the "perfect" wheel for me... well, i'll start rolling on the stocks when my car gets delivered to me on Sunday....

you didnt mention chrome or not but 20" chrome with tires is gonna be a tough find at best for 2k. There are 2 sets of chrome 20s in the classifieds with tires right now though all are under 2k (used)

I dont personally know these sellers or anything, just figured I would point out a few deals circulating! Good luck man

these are down to 1600-1800 i think

these are 1400 with new Toyo T1-S (really good price)

these are 1800
