Default Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Tread Life?

I'm probably going to be ordering some Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (235/45R17) next month, but I thought I'd check w/ everyone that has had them what sort of tread life I should expect from these. I don't consider myself a "spirited" driver, but do value high grip and performance with some light snow traction, and would like to get an idea how long these will last. I know that they have a treadwear rating of 400, and based on my other tires with similar treadwear rating (which is oftentimes subjective to the manufacturer), that should translate to 40K miles--any feedback? Thanks for the help.

Treadlware is excellent so far, but I've only have like 7K miles on them at the moment. Noticed a considerable amount of increase in traction and handling after the change from Michellin MXV-4 (I think) on stock wheels to Pilot Sport A/S on SC430 wheels.

If you really babied them you might get 40K but I think 30-35K is a little closer to what most people are getting, they are great tires.

I only have 4K on mine but they are amazing with traction and handling.

Since it is winter here in NJ, I've had my fair share of experience with snow and they handled very well.

Treadwear seems to be awesome too so far, but I can't really judge yet.

Well worth the price tag.

Great traction all around...dry, wet....(sorry...no comment on snow)....very responsive to steering....I love these tires. My psi is 48 to combat these dang potholes....max psi is 51 I believe.

I also get alot of compliements on them. They think I got 20s on cuz these tires are more beefy than other Ultra Performance All Season tires of the same size.

PHML,

Wow you put that much air in your tires? I keep mine at what the GS400 Manuel recommends but I always felt that is too low. Since I see you put that much, I might go to 40psi and see how it is. I want that beefy look too. Mine are 235/45 on 17s A/S pilots.
