Default Hey Guys, i'm back!!! Need opinions on HRE wheels...

Hey Guys,

I'm glad to be back and see that there are over 20,000 users, deng that's crazy, i remember when it was like 300, haha.

Anyways, i'm glad to see everything is still going full force, but i needed some opinions on wheels. I'm thinking of getting HRE wheels probably the 448R? What do you guys think, i'll post a picture of my car a bit later on.

Welcome Back !

It was good to see you last night after what seems like almost a couple of years.

Ahhh the 440 series is all good. Of course I'm partial to the 441's on my wifes car.

Hope to see you active once more. At one time you were all over the forums.

Now all the newbies are saying, who the heck is this guy?

You know how I feel about HREs. Which model, though, is personal preference. I guess you are back, huh? I see a bunch of upgrades coming.

Welcome back. Great to see you at RMMGS4's the other evening. HRE's are always a good choice. I prefer the 540R and 840R series.

hey man, you are back now you cant' get away anymore, mod the damn car

the 448r is a much more affordable hre series. if you know the price, it's actually not much more than some of the best wheels around. it's when you get into the 540r series or even the 840r series that the price start to go up

Can't go wrong with HRE

The 448R's are sweet.....but I think they look much better on Bimmers rather than Lexos, that's not to say they wouldn't look right on a Lex...I prefer the 540R on the GS but that's just me.

448R is a nice wheel nonetheless..

Are you getting 20" HRE's to replace the 19" SSR? I remember you got the first set of 19" SSR on CL

It's funny you should metion that JacobT. It's been a while, good to see one of the super old (i'm not talking about age ) guys are still around. I was thinking either 19s or 18s for HRE's because i've had not so great expereinces with the SSR GT3 lips, so i'm getting scared and might go down to 18s. I'd like to hear people's experiences of bent lips or wheels with HREs or how they drive before i make a large purchase such as an HRE wheel.

On the other side for those who know me, i am now moved back to sunny california where im working full time now. No more super butt cold Michigan weather for me. Now back to caring for my lexus and just refining those parts which weren't perfect enough.

Thanks for listening everyone.

BTW, did this 3rd revision forum of clublexus start in feb, cause you and me have the feb 2001 registered date? Just curious.

Default 448R

I am partial to the 448Rs because I have a set. I would recommend going with 19s on a big car like the GS. Here's my first gen...

Well gsnav, if you absolutly must go with the 400 series, then the 441 and the 446 are the sweetest. I've seen a GS400 with 446s and it was complete sweetness!!

If you might venture into the 500 series, well that's a whole other ball game! Either of these in the 500 series would be SWEEET on your GS: 543R, 546R, 547R, 549R. I also love the 540R, but I don't think mesh wheels work well wit the GS, IMO.

By the way RMMGS4, who the heck IS that guy?
