Default lowenhart LR5 with 5/112mm lug pattern

i'm looking at a set of lowenhart 20" LR5 wheels with 5/122mm lug pattern with high/positive offset and wondering if they will fit on my 98 gs400.. they originally came off a 2001 mbz sl500.. also, will i need to do any modifications to the fenders to avoid rubbing? I don't know the width of the wheel and should find out tommorow..Thanks alot..

ross

Very nice looking wheel I had them on my 95 S320...I also bent 2 wheels in 6 months and it was when 20s first came out..Very long wait for a new wheel.

im not sure about MB lug patterns but i know the MB pattern is not the same as Lexus (ours being 5x114.3) you could force them on but u could break a stud in the process or while driving so i wouldn’t recommend that.

i just read another thread stating the the wheels could be redrilled with the lexus lug pattern fairly inexpensively.. the selling price is 3 grand and I don't know if it's worth the hassle. also, the set is not staggered and that's a kind of a negativie IMO..

Lev, I wouldn't do it unless the wheels are being thrown at you (dirt cheap). Could be many problems (balance, rubbing, safety).

Those wheels are classic. One of my favs. If they'd fit you should get them but since they dont ,dont get them. Lowenhart stop making them so not many ppl have them. I love mine but I think im going to sell them and get somethign else soon.

I thought benzs were 5x112??

I had a friend that has some 19in BS5 on his benz sold them to someone with a lexus and they bolted up, since its was only off by .002mm??

Thanks for the input.... much appreciated..

I couldn't resist and had to jump on the group buy for the l-tune aerokit.. should be rollin with it in a couple weeks.. i'll probably hold out for twenty's for a little while...
the one wheel that i'm digging is the maido ST5 precision cut w/chrome lip and brushed face.. very agressive 5 spoke and not to flashy..

johnee.. thanks for the offer on your wheels.. theyr'e definitely sweet but a little too bling for my taste and will probably go with a staggered set up if i do it..

the mod bug hit soon after i starting thinking about getting a new ride.. (audi s4, BMW M3) I realized i would have to spend another thirty grand after selling my immaculate GS to get a car even some what comparable. Kind of foolish IMO and will hold on to the GS for a while.. i think some new shoes will and a few more years to my ride.. any opinions?
