Is it just me, or is that 'L' logo on the center cap of the wheel looks too awkward as a Lexus symbol?

Also, the Ebay item says they're 16" replicas, and I'm pretty sure that what Lexus sells similar to the style of those wheels are in 17s only. Something sounds fishy about this auction item...

Those look bogus and the description is wrong. They are 17" and were the optional wheels for the 1998-2001 GS. The only guy selling genuine lexus wheels on ebay regularly is NGBROS.. AAA rims are knock offs and are more expensive than NBBROS. Just purchased 17 inch chromes from NGBROS and they are flawless. Packed well and include chrome lug nuts, valve stems and center caps with the real lexus L . Now I just have to get tires and wait until spring to put them on,

The descriptions says they are REPLICA wheels. The real ones from the GS cars are 17x8" and have a deeper/longer channel in the spoke. Who can guess what the quality is?

There is a 16x6.5 5-spoke wheel that came on the 98-00 SCs. There's a silver set (sellers says they came from a 95 SC300???) on eBay now. These do show up chromed sometimes. There is also a 5 spoke GS300 wheel. I think you'll find a couple of examples of these in the wheels and tires section of Marketplace. I don't think any of them are chrome though.

Hameed has a set of the 17x8 "real deal" ones in chrome. Check his recent "guaging interest" posts.

Well on that topic one day I went up to the lexus dealer and I seen a nice brand new LS 430 with chrome wheels and it had the same type of logo on it. "I call it a upside down 7" . but that goes to show something is fishy about that. What I got to thinking was that they were alloys and they sent them away and got them dipped. A guy I know had a set of alloys and got them dipped and when he got them back it had the upside down symbol on it. Just thought I would share that with you guys

I think the majority of these types of wheels on EBAY are replicas and not the real thing.

The funny thing is they are probably selling like hotcakes.

As 98 and 99 GS vehicles become "too" affordable, the rate at which fake parts will sell does not surprise me too much.

I have been to a few shows over the last year, and am amazed how the image of the GS has dropped....you wont believe how much "ricey" stuff i am seeing with the GS.

Since most of these new buyers are already pushing beyond their spending limits to buy a used gs...they can only offer cheap non-quality parts and choose to go that route.

I feel very bad about this. I believe next year will be even worse.

Just take a look at Car Domain sometime.

Why would someone withOUT High Quality aftermarket accessories even try to win a car show?

And remember, it's what you do with yours that counts. Every day I see Civics and Accords that are jusr ridiculous. But every now and then I see some that are magazine worthy and those are the ones that stand out and get remembered.
