Default Quality Wheel for 2500.00

Okay - some of you know that I've been searching for just the right wheel for my car. I only plan to buy one set and unlike some CL members here, I don't have money to spend $4K on rims. I need a generous lip, 2 piece, and chrome. I won't be racing with a GS300 so weight isn't really THAT important. Mostly sportiness, class, and style. EVO's are mesh but I have always liked the basic 5-star chrome (Lowenhart LD5, Zauber Gettin, Dronell CA-05).

I was just talking to my neighbor about rims (he has a 2001 Mercedes Benz CLK Convertible, stock wheels), I told him that I was looking at 19" HPRacing EVO's and his response was " Don't get those!" Of course I asked why and he didn't have a good reason. Something like, that company's too new or something to that effect.

I'm not an expert on wheels but I know what I like. When it comes to quality, I just want something that won't bend when I hit a pothole on the freeway at 100mph, the chrome is triple plated , smooth (not wavy), has a nice 1" lip, 2 piece with visible rivets.

Anybody know anything about HP Racing/HP Design Wheels/Hurrican Power Inc? I searched for the company online to find out if there were any complaints, raves, or dirt but I can only find solid info. They remind me of Blitz when they were new.

Any and all feedback is greatly apppreciated.

Darius

EDIT: ANy recommendation on wheels that match what I am looking for @ $2500.00 is appreciated.

D, alot of factors play into that, size, manufacturer, contruction, etc etc. Plus the chrome thing complicates matters a little bit. Your best bet may be to just hold on through the winter, and look for deals to pop up on ebay/CL classifieds etc etc. I really like Mille Miglia wheels and they are not too expensive. Also look into the moda R6, the only thing is the things you want (lip, chrome, quality) may be hard to come by, example, the moda is a five star with no lip!

19in. Zauber's are easily in your range. You just have to look around for the best price. I've seen new staggered 19's going for $2,200.00- $2,300.00 shipped.

Check out CCW Wheels. They have a nice split spoke forged wheel. If you meant 2500 for just wheels, theyre in your price range

Those Zauber and Work should be in your price range then. I seen some of those Work in person and it's very nice.

Thanks D - Initially I was looking for a wheel and tire package for 2500.00 but after hearing some feedback from you guys not being able to find what I was looking for that price, I had no choice but to up the ante. I'll just have to wait a little longer (or up the client's bill ). As long as I have my car done when the sun returns, I'll be happy. - Hope they don't read these posts.

I really like the Gettins in chrome, they really make heads turns and coming from Japan, you're not likely to see them on every othere car.

Anybody know anything about HP Racing?????

There is a member in the SC forum ( the name escapes me, sorry), who just had these put on his SC in 18x8 all around and it looks pretty nice. I'm sure he can tell you what he has incurred as far as how well the make is. His post is up near the top in the main SC forum.

EDIT: His name is Millatyme and the post is https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...hreadid=101900

I'd go with the HP's or a similar style.

The couldn't find a place to buy Zauber rims online so I couldn't find a price. I found the site, http://www.arw.co.jp/wheel/z/zgt.html, and tons of forums where people had them but no place that advertised price.

The Work Rezax are Hot but they're close to 5K for a 19" wheel and tire package. Thanks again to everyone helping me make this decision. I hate buying something then finding out I could've done better. ESPECIALLY if I can't easily return it. (Like wheels from Japan.)

D,

PM GS4Will, to date I believe he just supplied about 4 members with their Gettins so far if not more. He doesnt have the ROCK BOTTOM price, but he gets the wheels in as promised, which counts alot when you are dropping 3-4k on something from Japan!! Get a quote from him.
