Default ***Official L.A. LAKERS 2014-2015 Thread!!!***

In for another interesting season coming up for the Lakers with a new coach and some new players its too bad we dont have a new owner. Jim Buss has ruined this team since he took control. We are in bad shape Hopefully Mitch can make some great moves with what he has and Kobe comes back with some vengeance Also looking forward on who we are drafting or if we trade our pick, I cant believe we fell to number 7th in the draft!

Despite the problems ill still be cheering my team on, this team will always have my support no matter what!

Lets go LAKERS!

Buss was a horrible choice to begin with.

Wonder how much longer Kobe has it in him. While the Rockets are a good team I still think Howard was dumb for leaving. He would have inherited the Lakers and had the team built around him (similar to Spurs and Duncan) while Kobe slowly gives up the reins. Alas Lakers will look find a new face for the fanchise soon

The Lakers are in a tough spot. They would probably have a top 5 draft pick if Nick Young didn't shoot them into two meaningless end of season wins that caused their draft position to drop. Thanks for that, *******. They are in a tough spot financially with Kobe's salary taking up a lot of cap room. Pau is likely gone. They really don't have the resources to attract good free agents. I think we're in for another very tough year.

I agree! What a let down with the whole Howard thing was guy could of had a team around him but his attitude was awful what a diva/drama queen he was. I think i would rather have a healthy Bynum rather then Howard.

Yeah we are in a tough spot for sure. I hope Pau doesnt leave us hes still one of the best power forwards. Dantoni didn't use him right at all i dont blame Gasol if he leaves tho we tried trading him before and hes always in talks of being traded every season, that can hurt anyones moral and be a big distraction to his game.

The sad thing about all this Kobe deserves more and go out in a championship way rather then the big mess we are in. I really dont know if he will get another ring with the Lakers again.

It's hard to see the Lakers struggle the past few seasons, and truthfully, I can't see much turnaround this upcoming season. New coach, new system, new teammates, and new struggles in the ever so powerful Western Conference. It will take more than that allure of being in a Laker jersey to attract some big name, no nonsense players who have a strong-wiled mindset to win at all costs immediately. Kobe has a short period of time to get that next ring, and it certainly didn't help that injuries, which had never plagued him before, are starting to find him. He'll need to adapt, be patient, and trust his teammates. He can't carry the load and score at will anymore because it'll be too taxing on that body come playoff time. Pau should stay, but he is free to leave. Fans in LA loved him when he first arrived for taking us to three straight Finals appearances, and then have booed him since for his struggles as the rest of the big men in the NBA get stronger, faster, and more physical. He has a level of finesse to his game that few big men have, and that can still be a true asset to this next Lakers group.

No coach prior to the Draft puts management in a big predicament. To have that "win now" urgency, I cannot see any of these fresh faces making a significant impact to a Lakers roster. Free agency and trades will need to be considered heavily, and first and foremost, defense has to be addressed. The Dwight experiment didn't pan out well, but we didn't lose much aside from a year. Good riddance to the biggest waste of muscle in the NBA. The Lakers really didn't want that guy to be the face of the franchise, nor should us fans settle for a player who was not ready to embrace the true meaning of donning that Lakers jersey. That being said, and I've always felt this, bring back the REAL #12- Shannon Brown. We need role players who knew what they needed to do, and did so consistently.

I agree Kobe does deserve better. Not exactly the way you want to end a career when you're already going down as one of the greats. But it's not completely over yet, let's see if he can get through a few more golden years.

Similarly Derrick Rose and Brandon Roy both had so much potential for the Bulls and Blazers (later Timberwolves) respectively

bnizzle- Your right always speaking the truth.

Hoovey- Yeah lets see if Kobe can get another championship run in for next couple of years and stay healthy, that run and gun DAntoni offense didnt help much.

Anyone else afraid of getting Byron Scott are our head coach? He seems to be the front runner.

I would like Hollins since Rick Adelman has retired.

Who do you think the Lakers will hire and who do you want???

So with the 2014 7th pick Lakers choose Julius Randle out of Kentucky.

Thoughts?

Hollins is with Kerr now.... I think Byron would be a great fit and Kobe is cool with him.

One big star can change their fortunes around.

I want Lionel Hollins he hasnt signed with anyone yet. I dont think Byron would be a good fit at all from Mitch's latest interview discussing Randle it looks like Scott will be the next coach. :/ Im worried about that. Ill still cheer them on tho and hope for the best.
