Arrow Lakers 10-11 We Will 3-Peat Official Thread (edit: SMH, we will be back like Arnold)

We called it last season

http://www.clublexus.com/forums/the-...ba-champs.html

Word is Kobe's knee surgery went great and he is eager to get back on the court.

We've seen the great pick-ups in the off-season.

We lost Farmar, Powell, Mgenba

It might be Phil's last season.

Lakers win 70? Its possible.

lakers 70? i have to be realistic and say it's very tough.

i think lakers will continue to be the strongest in the west (even more so now), but the east gets very interesting, i think if anything 10-11 will be even tougher

Not too worried about winning 70... It's all about the ring. Go Lakers!

Same, winning 70 doesn't mean anything if you don't win the RING!!! This will be a very interesting season, especially with the East as strong as they are!

History is written by the victors.

You'll see it in CL member signatures and avatars, from Texas to Miami.

I doubt the Lakers will win 70, but I like their chances at another chip. They are reloaded.

i doubt 70 games...but they will hover around 60, which will still be the the best in the West.

however, in the East, I see either Chicago or Miami around 60-games as well. these two teams are stacked pretty heavily.

all I know is I cant wait to see the Lakers vs the Heat in the finals... ;D

I am not sure the Heat are a lock to make the Finals. Sure, those big three guys are great, but the bench is not all that robust and there's not a lot around them. Haslem is the key. If he is healthy and can play a reasonable number of games, that helps. I still remember James and Wade deferring to Kobe in the 08 Summer Olympics.

Kobe was an intricate part, but not the reason team USA won...see my post from another thread on why

Quote:
get off Kobe already...he was not the sole reason that team USA won, matter fact he was his same ball-hog as always and coughing up a lot of shots with a *****ty FG% (nothing new).

Kobe averaged the 2nd most minutes (23.5, lebron had 24.8) and took the most amount of FG (104), making only 46 of those. while Wade averaged 18.8 mins, making 47-70 shots. Wade also grabbed more boards and had twice the amount of steals with 18.

Wade was more of the reason team USA won in 2008.

http://www.usabasketball.com/seniorm.../stats/USA.HTM

also, wade/lebron/bosh had only 1 year in the NBA when they competed for the 2004 medal. Kobe had almost 12 years experience when he joined the 2008 team.

Kobe was the reason they won b/c of ATTITUDE. He brought a no nonsense style to USA basketball. It was serious business to him. Mind you he just went to the finals.

Did you miss the first scrimmage when Kobe hit the game winning 3? It set THE TONE for USA basketball.

Kobe> those dancing laughing asshats

Exactly. I am not a huge Kobe fan, but I've been a Laker fan for a long time. Kobe's competitive spirit is different than that of anyone on the Heat. Fisher gets it and tries to convey it. Pau gets it and only says something when the competitive spirit ends up as a bunch of 20+ foot jumpers when the Lakers' advantage is down low. Lamar Odom may or may not get it, but he shows up about 60% of the time.

Wade is a great talent, but he did his best work at the free throw line against Dallas when he won his chip. Bosh is Gasol-lite. We'll see if LeBron is a leader on the floor now. Being the primary scorer doesn't make you the leader. Also, maybe Wade is the leader in Miami. Time will tell.
