I enjoyed the movie. Obviously the events and destruction were over the top but other than that it was a great movie to see in the theaters with the effects and sound.

Yes, Alexandra has grown up from her Percy Jackson days Hard to believe she's 29!!

I'm so envious of Woody Harrelson , ......

Back to the movie, the effects are quite good , though nothing we haven't seen before. I like the cast, both female and male, I think they picked the right actors/actresses for the major characters in this movie. Overall I enjoyed it and it is worth seeing in the theaters.

Something about watching my own city go to ruin is not too enticing to me

I was just thinking about earthquake insurance. A quake at this level, it won't be a concern.

Your city is the punching bag for disaster movies from 2012 to planet of the apes and even x-men 3 got a few crack in.

I thought the same thing as I watched Godzilla destroy Las Vegas last year.

Eh, maybe the city could use a little bit. Way too crowded there

Does that mean Vegas will eventually have a beach?

Unlike most of the Hollywood disaster or science-fiction movies, this is not just the kind of exaggerated stuff on the screen that is done just for entertainment or box-office money. The entire San Andreas Fault (s) region of California is, in fact, a potential major, even catastrophic disaster waiting to happen. Scientists and Seismologists have long acknowledged the possibility of earthquakes in this region up to a 10.0 on the Richter scale.....the most powerful quakes on record in the Noerth American continent have been just slightly over 9. If that doesn't sound like much more, keep in mind that a 10.0, on that scale, would be ten tines as powerful as a 9.0.

While there is a fault under California, scientists say it is impossible to have a quake result from it being greater than 9.0 because the fault is not deep or long enough. According to the article, computer models are suggesting that quakes could be as large as 8.3 but anything larger is not possible. Also the SA fault cannot result in giant Tsunamis like the movie suggests since the fault is on land and not under the sea.
