Katzkin leather seat covers
[font=arial][color=royalblue]
To the guys that ordered and installed the Leather Kits from Custom Factory Interiors, http://www.leatherseats.com, what was your experience with the quality, longevity and overall experience with the kits? Is it as well made as OEM?
How are they holding up?
Would you do it again, or go to a custom shop and spend more money for a custom job?
Thanks,
Ryan

I am actually in the process of getting some Katzkins (different from Leatherseats.com) and I'm working on putting together a group buy...I will post details and pictures of the install...I will also post information about the group buy when it's ready and cleared by Ethan....

Katzkin leather
Manaray: tell me more about the supplier. Why are you not using leatherseats .com?

Manaray and Ethan,
I don't believe leatherseats, com is an approved vendor. Is the stitching or the pattern of even higher quality? How about the price?
Thanks,
Ryan

Katzkins vs Leatherseats.com?
I've been trying to figure out the difference between these replacement options myself, but it's hard to find concrete information on them. I believe that Katzkin is the manufacturer and they sell through autoleathers.com. I believe that leatherseats.com is simply a retailer for katzin because the options in the seats are the same eg. deluxe, standard, premium in regards to what pieces are leather or vinyl.
I'd love to know if anyone knows for sure, specifically if there's a difference in the quality of the leather and fit from either retailer. So far I'm leaning towards leatherseats.com as Eric seems keen to sell and has been very helpful. Also, their install kit is $39 vs $99 kit from autoleathers.com (more in the kit, cdrom, torx bits, etc... but I won't need 'em).
Anyone have the lowdown?

I used to be an area sales rep for a company that sells Katzkin leather conversions to new car dealers. If you want to know the quality of them, heres some food for thought. If you go to a car dealer and find the car you want but it doesnt have leather, they tell you they will have leather installed into the car for you for a certain cost. That leather that they put in is a Katzkin(or similar) leather kit. The fitment and quality is the same if not better than stock( as long as you have a good installer, like anything else). There area few companies out there that do a service like this, Katzkin is one of the larger suppliers of them. I had a custom color set done for myu last Supra, it looked perfect.

They're both selling the same kit. Katzkin is the manufacturer. Leatherseats.com is a distributor. Prices are similar as well. Buy from who you like dealing with better. I spoke to both companies, and researched this quite heavily.
You should be quite happy if they are installed properly.

Thanks for the replies gents, you've saved me some serious time and headaches. It's time to fix that 'nappy ole' leather.

No need!
I've spoken with Erik at Leatherseats.com a few times. After mentioning the ClubLexus board, he did offer a discount which I seem to remember being comparable to the group buy. Try calling Leatherseats.com and speak with Erik, see what he can do.
Aside from that, I'm ready to buy as well if someone wants to organize yet another group buy.
