Default Microsoft Office / PDF expert?

So here is my dilemma. I can save my e-mails as PDF, that is no problem. I have about 500 e-mails i need to save as one PDF, still no problem. However, some of the e-mails contains attachments and are showing up as attachments within the original e-mails. I would like to save all the e-mails as one single PDF and each attachments as a PDF right after their respective e-mail. This way i can have one PDF that shows all e-mails and all attachments (without any links) hope that makes sense. If it matters, i have office 2010 with Acrobat Reading x Pro.

Check out Aid4Mail: http://www.aid4mail.com it might be able to help. It does a ton and has helped me big time with the most obscure email migration issues.

Why not save them in Excel and make a front page with hyperlinks to each email. That way you can keep them in one file and jump directly to each email that you need to retrieve??? Should be able to set up a macro that will save the email, create the hyperlink and save the file again at the press of a button.

I deal with huge PDFs like that fairly often at work.

But our office has an extension for Adobe that allows us to merge, split, and add all kinds of markings to PDF files. It won't do OP any good though unless he's already using CCH Prosystem FX tax software.

Not sure about your solution but it appears to have embedded links. I was hoping to eliminate the needs of any links and have all the attachments appended after their respective email.

I would like to hit print - email print and then attachment (if any), next email print (attachment if any), etc. After more research it appears adobe acrobat is unable to provide that service unless i go through one of their solution parts .

Thanks for the advice but seeking additional software will be a pain. Working for the government limits my powers on computer access so i wont even be able to try the demo. Even if the demo works great, it takes months to approve and fund a single purchase. Looks like it will be old fashion print and scan for me.

As a fellow office worker, I will have a moment of silence for you. Printing and rescanning is the worst.

But yeah, there's no way outside of installing new software or plugins to do what you're seeking to do with PDFs.

no wonder our government is so 'efficient'

why do you have to print everything? you can output everything to pdf and then combine the files.

I don't see the problem. You can do all of what you say in above Excel. Adobe is very limited, but excel is virtually limitless. I could write you some code if you wanted me to?

excel is the swiss army knife of computers... it's used for a lot of things but it's not really good at anything.

Then you have not even scratched the surface of its potential. You can almost anything with it from controlling PDF files, emails, HTML to doing work in the domain where C++ and Java rules. I am not saying it can do what they do, but to a limited extent a lot of things are possible.
