500 miles from D.C. to Cincinatti, though the 450 miles to Ocracoke, NC, on the Outer Banks, was a fairly close second.
That was in my younger days, though. Today, though still in generally good health, my legs and back aren't what they once were...and they sometimes get sciatica and backaches from sitting in seats for long periods of time. The nice front seats in my Verano help.....they are large , accommodating, and very well-padded.
Yeah but it was in a Saturn SL2, the most uncomfortable car I've crossed this country in, so I deserve some credit for that.
In that car, miles are multiplied by a factor or 6X. Dad had one of those his regret began at 18K miles. Surprisingly it lasted till the 180K mark when the fuel injection ECU went south. Dealer didn't give any trade allowance on the car.
As for longest drive, ~575 miles from Cerritos, CA to Redding, CA.
Most time spent in a car was from Solvang, CA to Cerritos. ~155 miles due to the lousy traffic snarl of LA, took 11 hours before reaching home. After that, flapping to Japan for a 13 hour flight in lousy sardine seats was almost tolerable.
on my way to Tampa 2 years ago drove from Philly to Walterboro SC, 650 miles. Doing the trip in reverse in a week, shooting to make it a straight shot all the way through from Tampa to Philly, 1040 miles

817 miles according to the Google (probably a bit longer than that). We were vacationing in Maryland as Sandy approached, and elected to drive home out of fear that our flight would be cancelled. So we drove from National Harbor to BWI airport to exchange the car (not wanting to pay the one-way rate for a full-week rental, which would have been almost $3k), from there to Schaumburg, IL, unloaded the car, drove back out to O'Hare airport to return said car so we would only be charged for 1 day, then back home.
Unfortunately, with the long drive ahead of us, we decided to "upgrade" from the rather comfortable Impala we'd had all week to the "Premium class", which got us a Grand Marquis. The MOST UNCOMFORTABLE car I can ever recall driving. Though there was plenty of legroom, knee room was minimal at best (I spent most of the drive with my knees jammed into the dash), and the seats were so soft and unsupportive that all of us were nearly paralyzed with back pain for the subsequent 3 days.
