I've done 800+ miles from northern NJ to Robbinsville, NC for the tail of the dragon.
That Dragon-Tail road is considered one of the best in the world for motorcycles and sports-cars. It will definitely keep you awake.
For a somewhat shorter trip from northern NJ to another winding road, try U.S. 50 or U.S. 33 across the Allegheny Mountains of VA/WV. It's not quite as continuously-winding as the Dragon's tail, but still like a snake for a much longer distance....and I don't think you will be disappointed.
Great thing is, I did actually drive about 370 yards on a flat hole with not much wind. Had a caddie there to document it as well.
I was with a friend who witnessed mine. He was just as shocked as I was. I drove it past the green at Edgebrook, in Chicago on a 290+ yard hole. No wind help for me either. Just hit the ball square, with some authority. Landed just in front of the green and rolled over it, past the cup. With a little luck, I would have holed it on that drive.
Harrisburg PA to Nashville TN, 757 miles according to google. I started the previous day out of New Haven CT, which was 252 miles from Harrisburg. I woke up around 4:00am to catch a 6:00am flight to Charolette, then to Philly, then to New Haven, by the time I was driving my new car I bought on ebay it was around 5:00pm.
Best part of that trip was ripping out the old busted factory tape player and installing an aftermarket CD with an aux input into that car in the hotel parking lot. Car was a a 1998 Z28 convertible, I had previously owned a 1999 Z28 t-top, which I had done a stereo install on. Packed all the right tools, wire, tape, etc into my checked bag, job took all of 30 minutes in the hotel parking lot.
Also did a stint from Houston TX to Nashville, with a stop-over in New Oreleans. Some idiot tried to race me in his base motor Mercedes E class. I was driving a 1995 Cadillac Fleetwood at the time. That Caddy would straight walk away from him until I hit the 108mph limiter, then he'd blow by me. Unrestricted that Cadillac was good for 140mph. That was in a flat, straight part of Mississippi. I kept him a few car lengths in front of me, I was doing 90-100, he was cruising faster for the better part of 80 miles before he turned off. New Orleans to Nashville was done in a record one pee/fuel stop, took 6 and a half hours lol
Once drove solo 681 Miles from just outside of Atlanta, GA to La Porte, IN in a 98 Trans am. Used to go from Terre Haute, IN to either Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL for 450-500 mile trips about once a month during college. My later trips, my wife helped me, or we flew. I'm happy to have my long trips closer to 150 miles these days.
