25 minutes ago – Whitney Houston died this afternoon ... a rep for the singer told the Associated Press
Houston won two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards during her record-breaking career. Her album "Whitney" was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. She has sold 200 million albums world wide.
Houston holds an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities from Grambling State University in Louisiana.
Houston had one child, Bobbi Kristina, with husband Bobby Brown. Houston and Brown were married from 1992-2007.
Looks like drugs caught up to her. She was seen out last weekend looking just dandy, but when you have been a crack addict as long as her I guess anything is possible.

Yeah, it's been all over the news...48, way to young to go-it's sad, but when you're caught in that type of environment (drugs and what not)...it's only a matter of time, before it catches up with you. My heart goes out to the family.

RIP. It's truly sad, though. One more life in the music/entertainment industry brought to an early end from (probable) alcohol/drug-abuse.....though we won't know for sure until the coroner's report is released.
