i would highly recommend it, makes very smooth and fast shoulder transitions. Not sure what vid you saw but the Magpul Shotshow 2009 vids have good demonstrations:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcYsl1XrsNc
I like Magpuls sling because it can be a single or two point sling. Whatever I take out, I can move slings around
geez already thinking about modding out the SR556?

Yes, slowly but surely. My wallet is begging for mercy, lol! so I need a bit of time to recover, a sling set is a small but sure way to start though eh?

A local guy that I shoot with him in the match designed this sling plate. I like this plate more than the ASAP due to one piece designed vs the plate and a hook. I try the B.A.D this weekend at one of the tactical match and I don't like it at all( probably just me).

you have to retrain with the BAD, its faster than the bolt paddle in everyway. The biggest gain is in the double feed malfunction drill

^^^ Ordered one and am very curious how it will 'feel' when one uses it. We'll see.
So last night a buddy who already has an SR556 dropped over, he pulls a Bushnell 3-9x50 Illuminated reticle scope out of a bag and hands it to me and says here ya go, its not the greatest thing but you can have it and put this on top of your new SR556. I said "Cool"!
So this triggered the following purchases for my brand new SR556 as we sat there and looked at his SR556:
Burris xtreme tactical rings (low) to mount on top of a Larue raised (5/8") rail to clear the folded Troy BUIS. The raised rail comes with the quick remove/no tools needed handles.
Magpul : BAD, ACS Stock (thanks again 4theNguyen),
Magpul Curved Trigger Guard - sometimes I wear gloves but the real reason is to get rid of that annoying gap
This addresses one of the biggest gripe I have about the Sr556, that is one very hard trigger on the stock SR556. Practicing with snap caps I can feel just how bad the trigger is. Dropped money on a Chip McCormick single stage curved match trigger group, 3 - 3.5 pound pull, non adjustable, friend has one in his SR556, installs in a few minutes, drop in and no creep.
Ergo front Vertical Grip and Ergo rail covers to keep the front as slim as possible, the Troy covers are cool but I like the front as skinny as possible.
I think Christmas came a bit early for me.

After installing the Magpul BAD on my Colt LE6920 I cannot imagine the firearm without it now. Its a significant improvement in the steps involved when loading a fresh magazine or clearing a malfunction. I also want to add that it does not take away any of the old functionality but gives you more. Thanks to 4TehNguyen for the tip!

yea for $30 the BAD is an excellent mod, addresses the shortcomings with the AR bolt release/catch. Weapon's evolution is ongoing
