Some good reads here (I hope the movie doesn't ruin WW Z, which I enjoyed).

I have a number of books I'm reading (or re-reading) now but will recommend THE SHACK by William Young. It's a short novel about a man who encounters God, really in the flesh, who explains, WHY.

It is far and away the best portrayal of God I've seen without all the religious trappings.

Read two great ones on my vacation last week:

The World According to Monsanto--about corruption and deceit in pursuit of profit, no matter the consequences
A History of the World in Six Glasses--how Beer, Wine, Spirits, Coffee, Tea, and Coca-Cola shaped and reflected the development of civilization over the past 12,000 years.

I read The Shack a few years back. Excellent book!

WW Z is great so far.

Just finished Islands in the Stream today, Love in the Time of Cholera yesterday and 100 years of Solitude last week. Tried to read Going Clear but it bored me to death before the end of the 2nd Chapter.

I just got done reading the Japanese Stance magazine. If magazines don't count I read a book on Mercedes.

Going to bump this.

Anyone have any good history book recommendations? I'm very curious of civilized history, nothing in particular, just want to read my first history book. Thanks!
