Default 2007 GS350 AWD front strut removal

I'm stuck.

I can't get the front strut off to replace it on my 2007 gs350 awd.

There is an arm that connects the strut to the lower suspension arm. The bolt holding the two together has a slot in it, and I'm not sure how to remove it.

I can't get the arm down low enough to remove the strut without removing the bolt.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Chad

Here's the bolt. there is a notch in the bolt but it's flat on the other side. Can you hammer this through, or do you screw it out somehow?

Default Solution

As usual, I figured out the issue by myself.

The bolts do come out with a hammer. Unfortunately for me, the drivers side was severly rusted in the middle. I put extra wheel chocks on the rear wheels, put two lifts under the car, and some jacks. I then screwed the nut on to the bolt so that the bolt and nut were flush, then hit it with a sledge hammer. It moved ever so slightly after a few hits. I put WD40 on the flat side in the tiny gap, then hit the flat side flush again. I put WD40 on the nut side again, then went back and forth until it came completely out. Hooray, I'm back in business.
