whats up club lexus??? i have been reading up on this forum and you guys are awesome!! lots of knowledgeable people here! sorry if i just decided to sign up now... but i am having issues about the Megan racing coil overs... i have a 2006 GS300 AWD. i ordered the right coil overs. got the package, it looked right. i installed the front coil overs and it fit perfectly. i started taking out the rear struts and something didnt look right... the megan racing coil overs were way too long compared to the stock struts... i was wondering if anyone here knows whats up...

i know on the pictures the coil over is not mounted (because i cannot get it to fit) properly and its a few inches lower, but the coil over itself if a good foot longer... i also turned the bottom sleeve all the way to the top but its still too long...

Does it go in the other way, with the body of the shock (the blue part) sitting mostly within the body of the car? I thought this was what's responsible for taking up all our trunk space...

its cause the stock suspension has bigger body that is not seen unless taken out of the car...

nice! thanks... that makes sense... i never got around to taking the rear factory struts out because when i looked at it, it looked wrong... not to mention it was 95 degrees that day and already frustrated because installing the fronts kinda kicked my butt... awesome! thanks again!

btw, my car looks weird without the drop, so as soon as i do that, i will post the pics up with the wheels and drop...

I was just about to chime in with coilovers, you flip the struts upside down to fit it in place. on OEM setup, the springs are pointed towards teh bottom end lol..... That's why when you go air suspension, you have to get your struts custom made.

now here's my next question... does the rear wheel camber in at all after lowering it? im not sure if i have to get a camber kit for it yet... so i was wondering if theres any natural camber when lowering. anyone got a pic of their rear wheel camber with a drop and without a camber kit?

I'm on Tein CST coils, just got my alignment done a few days ago. The camber I have in the back is -2.7, I don't remember how low it sits, been a while but coils are not maxed out....

rear wheels will always camber it's a performance thing for our cars and many other RWD vehicles. But HOW MUCH camber you get from lowering your car is a whole nother deal .

I'd say yes, if you drop it will camber in, that's how it is for all cars i've seen unfortunately. So if you want to keep it from cambering then you'll need a camber kit.

i definitely do want them to camber in, but not too much. i am planning on rolling and pulling the rear fenders when i get the coil overs installed... i need to fit those wheels!! 19x11 +22 on my rear wheels... i cant wait to lower the car. it looks terrible with the 19's on without the drop... gah!!! lol.

for the rear fenders, do you roll or shave them? my buddy that rolls fenders knows about most cars that either need a roll or shave. but is pretty firm on the 3gs only needing a roll. but I've heard a shave is whats needed.
