Default (rear) UAS air bags are rubbing when car dropped...how to avoid this?

i don't hear any rubbing when the car is moving, but if i dropped it to the ground, you can hear the bag rubbing w/ the frame.

I'm using megan + UAS bags. Please help, how did u guys avoid this ? It seems reallllly close w/ the frame *see pictures*. You can see a rubbing mark in the bags as well.

3gs or 2gs? lol sry

for the 2gs (assuming since its on your sig) you gotta run it so the back is on the bottom since the OD of the bag itself is a lot larger than springs. This means you should run a different rear shock like the OEM shocks.. Bilstein, koni, kyb etc.

i think thats how people run them doing a coilbag setup for the rears.

^ I belive vywnn is correct or you should contact Zach at Universal air. I think that they mock up a bracket that you can use for the rear so you can use your megan coilovers....

it's a custom bracket that UAS makes for aftermarket coilovers.... I'll reference my thread in here so you know what you're dealing with. I'd reccomend you go back to whatever setup you were on previously before you blow those bags in the middle of a slammed session =\

lol, don't cut it yourself, send it off to UAS, i mean it's a bit costly, but that peace of mind is all worth it..... They also spray over your coilovers so that it doesn't rust either (if that's any consolation. Good luck!!

OHHH, i forgot to mention before i screwed u over, it's not ONLY cutting the bottom and putting the shock towards the bottom, it also involves you having to make an adapter plate to compensate for the difference of the top and bottom. Hope that explains it (go back to the thread for further reference).

i unfortunately don't but when i get the chance i'll try to upload it for you, I can try to get it up and going for you as soon as possible for you (might be a few days since i'm on a packed schedule and not at home).

Can you post what your adapter looks like?

Not mine but you can see what it should look like.

If I remember correctly the sleeve is 5" and the adapter is 3".

I don't have any rubbing issues at all.

Well, mine's is the EXACT same setup, so I'm not sure why your's is rubbing if your's matches sticky4. I'd say contact previous owner and confirm they're modified by UAS, otherwise they might need to be remodified. Also, sticky's rear struts look like they sit a lot lower than your's.... notice how your bars are AGAINST the wall while sticky's is UNDER the wall.

P.S. Sticky4, how do you still adjust your dampering when that big huge gap is above the dampering ****?

go with a cup kit suspension instead of air bags...you will never have this problem...
