Can anyone give some info on lowering springs for a 06 430. Will the dealer install them without affecting the warranty?

springs? maybe like 200 bucks? i probably can care less about dealership install, they are not better off anyway, and more than likely you void your suspension warranty.

personally i would just wait for coilover

you can already get springs for the 3GS?

springs setup u normally are stuck with that specific height

coilover will replace ur springs and shocks and for these u can get ones that are adjustable (height and dampening) coilovers basically just give u more options in making the suspension the way u like it

They can range from $800 - $4000 depending on the make. The ones most people have on the 2GS are between $1000 - $2000.

Springs are in R&D at at least 1(confirmed) company right now but I think we are still a ways off on having the options that the 2GS has. This is one of the prices to pay for being an early adopter of the 3GS. You just have to drive stock for awhile. Other than wheels (which are pretty much universal), there really are no 3GS specific aftermarket parts.

If you drive high mileage, coilovers are not the best route to go unfortunately.

Dont know much about Suspension stuff, but I got the impression that Coilovers are generally more Race car like. They provide a stiffer and bouncier ride compared to Springs and a new shock/Strut(like race track suspension). Like for example for my Maxima, most get Springs and adjustable Shocks/Struts because they feel the Coilovers are way to stiff and bouncy. Or maybe it varies a lot between the type of car and the manufacturer of the coilovers.

Coilovers come in a range of cruising type (almost stock like ride) to stiff racing type. I am not sure what is/was available for the Maxima but the you can get ones for the GS that are way superior to any shock/spring combination,

that's correct, coilover does NOT mean harsh ride, not even close. on the 2gs, if youget tein cs or the tom's or so, those rides so damn good. in fact i think it rides even better than some springs/shocks combo. coilover only means you can adjust the height and dampening, it has nothing to do with overall stiffness being more than that of springs/shocks.

btw, flipside, you said that coz' of the rebuilt cost of shocks or what?
