Question How to install the TRD STB

Just a quick question. When i took off the strut tower bolts, there is a black ring that goes around each individual tower. Should i leave those rings on and put the strut bar on, or take those 2 rings off and then put the bar on. Thanks

Some have left them on, some have taken them off. They're still on my car under the strut bar. By the way, your subject says SWAY bar but you mean STRUT brace I think.

cant really tell any difference though. I am going to buy the trd sway bars though... curious, how much do they cost? also, does the strut bar really make much difference?

Sorry if I go on a slight tangent but I took my ring off. I thought the "ring" on the STB replaced the stock one. Leaving it on seems like you are using a spacer. Just curious why you guys left it on.

at least on my trd, if i take the ring on, it will rub against the engine cover edge very badly. it's rubbing quite a bit now already

You should notice a diff. in the front end (feels 'tighter') when taking turns and when going over bumps in particular - less 'jiggle' because the left/right sides of the car at the front won't be flexing. For sure the TRD sways will make a much bigger difference though.

Try a few turns a little faster. Don't go hog wild untill you've experimented with the limits. Going straight, you won't tell too much difference.

I believe 2001+. (Someone will correct me if I am wrong. ) Good luck finding it, though, if that's what you are thinking. Lexus does not sell it as a separate part any longer.
