Default Lowering Springs and Struts Replacement

I am wanting to lower my is350 on H&R springs. Do I also need to replace the struts and springs as well?

Car has 120K miles on it, all original suspension parts.
Shop quoted me over $2000 for parts and labor (bought springs separately, still need struts and shocks) this is out of my budget though.

My biggest priorities are lowering my car, and not damaging the suspension or tires. Decrease in ride quality is alright for now.
Any help? I HATE that my car looks high, it tears me apart, keeps me up at night, and is the sole reason for my unhappiness.

First of all, that's a complete ripoff. For that type of money, you should buy coilovers. If the struts are in good condition, you don't have to replace them, you can just swap out the springs, however, this will cause premature wear on the struts and you will eventually have to replace them with new ones.

120k on your existing shocks will be pushing it my friend. Shocks are not going to be that cheap. So like the 2nd poster suggested you may want to try coils. If i read correctly, you've already purchased your H&Rs? I found these on sale from tein: ( there is a guy who just bought these and you can read his post a few spots below yours).

Thanks guy I'm going to start looking into it. Coilovers seem like a good option given the circumstances, thoughts?

yeah because buying four new shocks and lowering springs are going to be almost the same cost as buying coilovers. at least with coilovers you can adjust your ride height.
