Wheel hop and single "knock" sound from suspension
I'm going to try and explain this as best I can...because its weird, this makes it difficult. I lowered my car on some Megan 1.25" drop springs. Recently, in the cold weather, I have noticed that when I back up and turn my wheel close to lock, the wheels feel like they are hopping. I checked the axle's and the boots are not torn. However, one boot attached to the transmission on the driver's side front has no clamp on it. It has plenty of grease, but no clamp. Now, when I shift into drive after backing up and start to drive, the first small bump I hit will trigger a single knock sound from the driver's side front. I looked under there and tightened all the suspension components. Nothing was loose. The top hat's 14mm nuts are also very tight. It sounds like something comes unseated when cold and reseats when I hit a bump. Any idea as to what might cause a noise like that?

Do you own an AWD? I think the wheel hop feeling is the AWD clutches engaging since one of the tires needs to turn faster than the other and it treats it as slip or something. No idea about the knock sound but if you search clublexus for spring and coilover clunking issues I think you'll find something.
