If you are slammed please dont bother replying. Im looking for that BMW/Audi sport wheel gap. Im also looking to prevent that AWD vibration as well as CV boot tears. Im thinking 2 1/2 inches from lower locking ring to second to top ring. Has anyone played around with these adjustments?

I'm lowered 1.5inches in the front and 1 inch in the rear(25 inches ground to fender all around). I still have the vibrations but I heard it was a safe height to prevent CV boot tears. Not sure how much you'll have to raise it from this point to get rid of the vibrations or what the BMW/Audi wheel gap measurement is either.

hmm. Well for starters im an idiot and never adjusted them out of the box. Once installed it looked even to me so I just rode with it lol. But while I was in the shop getting brakes I measured the front driver which was at 2" and rear passanger which was at 3". So now im taking the time this weekend to even them all out. With saying that my vibrations are minimal and only really notice them in the winter when its really cold out. But I have had two torn boots. One at around 35k and the other now at 80K. The torn boots are most of what im concerned of. So I think 2 1/2 might be good. I dont want to go any lower then 2".

Whats the proper way to measure and adjust coilovers? I was under the impression you measure the threads from bottom locking ring to second from top and set all 4 corners equally. My mechanic who has more experience with them tells me to measure on a flat surface from ground to top fender. He says you do not do it my way because engine weight in the front etc. Ive never adjusted my coils out of the box and to be honest visually it looks even. I have been riding that way for 6 years now.

I find ground to fender as the best way. That way you can ensure that your car is sitting evenly from the left and right side. The weight of the car is unevenly distributed, so if you've jacked up your car before you'd notice that the driver side takes a little more height than the passenger side to get jack stands under or the wheels out etc.
