Unusual Rotor Deterioration?
Hi All,
The attached picture is my 2014 IS 350 AWD (non f-sport) rear brake rotor. Have been getting a rumbling from the rear during high speed braking so took it in to the dealer for a look.Mileage is about 29,000 km (18,000 miles).
Dealer service tells me that front brakes have 5mm or wear remaining but there is a slight wobble that can be turned. Back brakes are shot, needing new rotors and pads. I know it is not uncommon to replace brake pads at this point, although most of my driving is highway. I am surprised with the condition of my rear rotor. The contact patch seems very small to me. Anyone else have this happen? Should it wear like this and if not, why do you think it has?
Thanks in advance.

That is definitely weird. Looks like your pad was damaged in some way. Either way your pads and rotors need to be replaced on that axle. Inspect caliper and pistons for any irregularities

strange. sounds like you need new brakes regardless. pull the pads and see if they're unvenely worn
