my 2015 is350 f sport has 20k miles on it, so the dealership said they are recommending me to replace my front brakes soon. Havent seen the price they are quoting me. I've heard stoptech and akebono? Will that void the warranty? First time with this thing, so any help will be appreciated.

Im pretty sure nothing voids a warranty unless a part is proven to be cause of any later failures.

Im currently going with brembo ceramics and stoptech slotted rotors for the front, both sides. 15,000 miles, 3 years.

even then i can't imagine any scenario where you'll need a brake warranty. the rotors and pads themselves are wear/tear items. the other related stuff like your calipers won't ever break (especially not within warranty mileage/time)

how much do akebono pads cost? and which ones do yall recommend?

Replace the pads yourself. It is really easy and shouldn't take you more than an hour. If you don't have any vibration in the brake pedal your rotors are fine. If your rotors are warped you are better off replacing them. Turning the rotors is a temporary fix.


Most people are not mechanically inclined and believe everything the mechanic says when it comes to routine maintenance. They know this and take advantage of customers. Mechanic shops are treated like retail and the managers recieve bonuses on profits.
