Default 350 rear driver caliper seized

Are these at all repairable? Was doing rotors and brakes today, and got stuck with the ol seized up caliper pin (the one that's sorta built into the caliper) problem. Was fighting with it trying to get it on the rotor when I realized what was going on. Already ordered a reman'd one, but I won't see that until tuesday at least. Bracket doesn't float unless you tap on it with the hammer a bit past the screw holes on the caliper, then it floats freely. Has to be tapped back with the hammer to line up with the screw holes as it won't line up normally without force.

Remove the caliper, separate the two "halves", clean out the chamber from lube and debris, clean the piston/pin, re-pack the chamber with grease, re-assemble the two halves, install.

Even with heat and a 5lb sledge I was unable to separate one of my calipers. So I had no choice but to replace it. But I went ahead and replaced both with new OEM calipers.

Thanks for the link, appreciate it! Couldn't find that at all, only links for 250s.

I went at it pretty good the other day, got it to float but it wouldn't separate. I'll probably give it another whack before I go pick up the one I ordered from Autozone. If I can get it cleaned up again, I'll just tell them I no longer need it. Would save me $60 at least and screwing around with brake fluid.

edit: Yeah, it's toast. Attacked it with a torch, hammer, and a 5lb sledge. No budge whatsoever.

The calipers on our cars are a POS joke. Ive had two go on me, one rear, one front. Had to get a rebuilt core for like $130.

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised on some of the joke-ish stuff Lexus did on these cars. Luckily I haven't had to mess with the front rotors yet as they have plenty of material left on them, I did change the pads to the low dust version on the front recently though.

As far as I can tell, the autozone caliper is working fine for now, would of been nice to have found a local rebuilder though.. Might tackle a brake fluid flush later on.

Thanks guys!
