Replace them with new ones. You won't regret it later on.

A few symptoms of a bad ball joint are a somewhat heavy steering wheel, creaking and popping when turning steering wheel, pops and such when going over bumps, and the wheel doesn't center/swing back on its own. You may get no symptoms at all; it could just fail. If they have anywhere from 75K-90K miles on them, I suggest you replace them before you end up smacking yourself on the back of the neck.

Not a problem. I saw a 99 GS go down the other day here in the Boston area. Pulled over to help/see what happened and it was the ball joint that failed at 96K miles.

If they had only been a member of CL they would have known. *sigh*

Thanks guys.

You guys been very helpful. I'm just curious to know the symptoms before it breaks down on me. I'm picking up a new set of rims and switching out my brakes too. While i'm at it. i'm going to check out the ball joints too.

-Another thing, isn't there like an add on bracket that doesn't create so much stress on the ball joints?

PS:
i'm putting a lot of work into my car this month. I'll show you guys updates. few new things are coming in; custom lights, rims, etc....

Roll Center Adapters will do that for you.

I've seen 4 or 5 GS's in my area in the last few years, a couple weeks ago I saw a GS on a tow truck so I went by and sure enough a front wheel was turned sideways in the wheelwell. When I recognized the GS tails on the flatbed I wasn't the least bit surprised that the ball joint ended up being the culprit.

duby i heard a squeaking that turned into a metal on metal rubbing sound. Eventually my bjs broke on the road while i was driving.

If you're beyond 80k miles and havent done this, DO IT. Mine broke at 90k
