Default Feedback on Akebono ACT 1178?

Thinking about installing the Akebono ACT 1178 for the fronts on my 2015 IS250 F sport. I have 15,000 miles and am done with the brake dust and noise.

Anyone have the Akebono ACT 1178 and had them for a while care to share your opinion?

I use the 1118 on my 15 IS350 F-Sport and I love them...low dust in my opinion. I also ran them on my 08 IS350 and loved them on it too.

I actually just installed these yesterday on my IS250 F Sport. I've driven about 150 miles so far and I'm happy to report no dust and no more squeals backing up. Go for it!

The Akebono 1178 brake pads work great on my 2015 F Sport. Very little dust and no sqeek so far.

I switched to the Akebono ACT 1118 front brake pads on my new 2015 IS350 after one week! They're still bedding in, but right out of the box they stop just fine, with only very slightly less initial grab that those dirty stock pads. I'm very happy with this upgrade.

It says the pads don't need to be bedded like normal pads they are plug and play ready to go.

Is that what you guys experienced?

I found bedding information on TireRack.com for Akebono brake pads - it claims 400 to 500 miles of moderate driving and to avoid hard braking. Akebono's web site says no break in required.
I didn't try to bed them with hard stops and they seem to stop just fine. Initial grab is not as much as stock, but I expect it will improve as the pad conforms to the rotor surface over time.

Oh, and no more dust!

Quick question regarding the brakes

The akebono 1178 brakes on amazon shows only the front pads for the 2015 is250. Are there no rear pads?

Amazon's catalogue is crap. Look up the part number on akebono's website and search using that number.

If you're changing the F-Sport brake pads because of the dust issue, you don't really need to change the rear pads. I only changed the front since the back ones never created much dust for me.

Can someone chime in on the difference between the 1178 and 1118?

The 1178 are the front pads for the IS250. The 1118 are the front pads for the IS350.

ive read that the 350 akebono pads are smaller, and so there is a loud rattle noise when switching gears, reverse to drive, etc...is this true?
