Arrow Grinding noise when braking after ls400 bbk

I'm experiencing some grinding noise when I am braking, it's most noticeable to hear when the car is at slow speed going at a complete stop. the brake pads were wagner thermos, and got a new shim kit from lexus. the rotors are also new, I didn't think the drilled/slotted rotors could cause such a noise? Can anyone tell me ideas on what the grinding is? it's only when I step on the brakes and at slower speeds

awe man at least I'm not alone.. I had wagner thermos before and it didn't have the noise on OEM rotors. the ones I have on now are from a brand called power stop which were also new...hmmm

Yes, they still make noise. I just spoke with someone about it, they told me it was because of the drilled/slotted rotors. So that is "normal" but I'm not quite sure. That would be my guess though.

I have cheap Wagner pads on my LS400 calipers that also grind and disperse a lot of brake dust. I really want to replace them with Hawk or Akebono pads.

I just did a ls400 upgrade with akebono on dealer rotors and no noises so far about 200 miles done at city and Highway braking. I got the full ceramic could it be something hitting the rotors during braking the dust shield or something else? Do you see any marks on your calipers maybe the wheel is hitting it? Or maybe the rotors is out of place causing it to move around. I would re-seat all of it just to make sure it's none of those things before spending $$$.

BTW the front set cost me $33 on amazon 2 day shipping

If you have not driven with drilled/slotted rotors before I am betting the noise is related to that. They are noisy and it's just part of having those.

It's the pads, I bought OEM ls400 pads and the grinding went away, had them on for awhile now and seems fine. I used to have wagner on my stock sc calipers and it didn't have noise though. Maybe it has to do in conjunction with these rotors.
