Default Powder Coat

Hi all,

I'm gonna put on my red (powder coated) Stoptech brake kit next Saturday and would also like to paint the rear calipers to red for matching. Do you know which caliper paint is the most similiar to the powder coated finish? TIA.

well if you want to paint it, just use duplicolor engine enamel 500C paint from kragen, 3 bucks and it does the SAME work. i have it, rmmgs4 has it, dex has it, all hold up very good. imho those caliper paint is a rip off, same stuff at 89484x the cost

folia tec has a very nice caliper paint kit
it is a kit of 2 products that have to be mixed
when painted on they give a very deep wet clearcoated look
in many colours such as red
and it doesn't chip off or fade or colllect brake dust as paint does normally thay can be wiped clean
very easy to do and costs about 30

Raristo, I am very intersted in this stoptech brake setup. Please let me know how they are working out for you. You also got the rears too right? I am just looking for the front brakes.

What kind of rotors did u get, slotted or crossdrilled?

skp,

Are you referring the G2 kit?

Drew,

Todd will put on the brake for me this Saturday. Due to the proper break-in process, I won't be able to test the REAL brake power after a few days. For rotors, I got slotted ones.

RA- I too am very interested in hearing your thoughts on the StopTech big brakes you purchased. If everything goes well, I will probably purchase as soon as I hear your opinions. I saw several good write ups in the mags for these brakes so now I want to hear them from a fellow club member!

i don't havea web site as i am in canada so not sure what would be close to you
but thanks for the picture
it is actually that same kit but that has been obviously been relabled from folia tec to the g2 stuff
it seems a little pricey for 38 but it is the best looking one you can find in my opinion

If you want to spend some money on an extremely good product, try The Eastwood Company . There products are top notch.

I don't want to waste the paint whether it's 3 bucks or 30 bucks.
