Default Current brake setup just not working out

With the recent additions of suspension mods (L-tuned ECU, TOMS rear chassis brace, LCB, Front /Rear STB, front/ rear sways, TEIN Flex, and soon 6 piece links which BTW my mechanic had no idea on how or where to install. I take full blame for this as I did not provide any pictures. After searching the CL forum I came across some very nice pictures of the entire TOMS suspension posted up by Manaray and a few other CL members.

Anyway, my car is now a entirely a different animal. I find myself going faster and faster as I feel more confident in the car. Everything seems predictable. For instance, I can now push the car hard enough and know exactly when the car will break loose and even when it does it is completely controllable.

The one thing that is not measuring up are my BRAKES. My current setup is SS brake lines with the TRD slotted OEM replacement rotors, and EBC green stuff pads.

I only put 3k on my car since this brake upgrade and my pads are worn by 50%.....ouch!

Regarding wheels, I am running 17' OEM lexus wheels. 245/45/17 all the way around. I have 25 mm spacers on the rear.

I do not plan on changing wheels but what do you guys recommend I should do?

What kind of big brake upgrade can I do that will fit on the stock 17 inch rims and would not set me back a total fortune?

Is there any 4 piston setup for about 1-2k?

What ever happened to the wildwood group buy....is anyone currently running that setup and if so ....how do you like them?

1k isn't enough for any brakes upgrade out there, 2k you might be able to get something going. look at stoptech, they make very good brakes for about the price range you at, and it's POSSIBLE that they will fit on your stock 17. i know their kits for is300 fits the stock 17, so you have a good chance.

Drew,

Stoptech offers some brake package that would fit inside your 17" stock rims. You can contact

Mike Clark

PM name: IS Pilot
at www.prolexperformance.com.

He took good care of me.

My 14" setup just arrived today and I'm just waiting for my Cusco bar in the container. Hopefully it's in there. <fingers crossed>

RAristo....this looks pretty good. A very nice and detailed explanation and it clears the 17 inch wheel.
What color kit did you get ....Red or Black Powder Coated Calipers.
Also did you pay less than $1995 for the 332 x 32 StopTech Kit. How much was shipping and everything?

Rominl, didnt you get in on the wildwood buy? WHat kind of big brakes are u running and how much did you pay?

Drew,

I chose mine red and my brake is not 332 (13") but rather 355 (14"). And I also upgrade the rear brake, not just the front. I do not post any price online. If you want to know more, either PM IS Pilot or me. The Wilwood gb was dead long time ago if you were referring to the one Manaray trying to hold.

no, the wait was too long so i went ahead and got the ap racing 6 pistons setup with 13.5" rotors. it's huge though so it won't clear the stock 17". got it for about 3k

So you dont have to have high Disk wheels with these brakes? Just 17"s or better? Enabling you to switch back to stock in the winter? That would be nice.
