Default New coilovers! Attempt or Nah!

I finally received my BC coils and now Im not sure if I could do them by myself over the weekend. I have never done any suspension work before but I would like to try!

How hard is it to do on a scale of 1-10? Will i be able to do them in a weekend time frame? Should I attempt to do them by myself? Any advice is appreciated I just need some support hahaha!

Thanks ahead of time fellows!

It's not too hard. Check the DIY section. For me the hard part was that I had the rears adjusted low before I installed them and it was a b"&*% to line the bolts up.

Personally found the fronts most difficult with the stubborn upper arms, otherwise not too bad

Thanks for the input guys!

I read through a bunch of DIY's and youtube videos but all the people that were commenting said it was either really easy and straight forward or the other people that said it was hard and complicated and took them 3 days to do it. So I just wanted to see with you guys who have more experience with this stuff then me.

I appreciate all the tips and tricks!

As long as you dont have them adjusted too low prior to installing them I think you will be ok if you're mechanically inclined. Having them adjusted too low makes it a ***** to line up the bolt holes..

You were right. I started to do one side and I was on a parking lot in front of my apartment with the absolute bare minimum of tools and it took me about 5 hours just do one side. Its not hard the only problem that I had were mostly just taking all the nuts and bolts off (15 year old suspension so I wasnt surprised ) but once I tackle the other side Im sure I could do it under 2 hours which to some of you might seem a bit too long but again this is my first time doing any suspension work and the tools I had were less then ideal. Instead of a breaker bar i had just a pipe and instead of jack stands i had it on 2x4's which I wouldn't really recommend but it worked non the less...

If you can change your own oil you can figure out coilovers

Soooo! I got the coils on there and now its time for an alignment!

My advice for anyone attempting to do this is just to have the right tools!! If you can turn a wrench you can pretty much do this job but the only problem I had was getting leverage on some bolts and them being hard to take off. It took me about 5 hours to do the front driver side and about 8 hours to do the other three sides (plenty of breaks) but now that I know how it all fits together I think I could do all 4 sides in under 6 hours on a parking lot.

For anyone attempting them I would say go for it just know its going to take a while if its your first time and prepare all your tools before you get started so you dont have to go back and forth!

Great to hear! Post up some pics. Every time I complete a DIY I try to buy more tools with the money I saved on labor.
